Pansel

Stellar Dossier: The Pansel System
"Two hundred and thirty-nine thousand lightly fried eggs fell out of it too, materializing in a large wobbly heap on the famine-struck land of Poghril in the Pansel system.
The whole Poghril tribe had died out from famine except for one last man who died of cholesterol poisoning some weeks later."— The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Chapter 9
Pansel is the host star of the Pansel system, home to the famine-struck world and land of Poghril and the ill-fated Poghril tribe.
The Hole in the Galaxy & The Fried-Egg Catastrophe
When the Heart of Gold engaged its Infinite Improbability Drive to rescue Ford Prefect and Arthur Dent from the vacuum of space at an improbability level of $2^{276,709}$ to 1 against:
- The Improbable Rupture: A hole appeared in the Galaxy that was a nothingth of a second long, a nothingth of an inch wide, and quite a lot of millions of light-years from end to end.
- The Wobbly Heap in the Pansel System: As the hole closed up—spilling lots of paper hats, party balloons, and a team of seven three-foot-high market analysts (who died partly of asphyxiation and partly of surprise)—two hundred and thirty-nine thousand lightly fried eggs fell out of it too, materializing in a large wobbly heap on the famine-struck land of Poghril in the Pansel system.
- Extinction of the Poghril Tribe: The entire Poghril tribe had already died out from famine except for one last man, who died of cholesterol poisoning some weeks later.

Sirius Tau
The primary star of the Sirius Tau system, infamous throughout the known Galaxy because the Complaints Division of the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation covers every major landmass of its first three inner planets.
